A new wave of professionals is transforming Governance, Risk, and Compliance from a rigid framework into a dynamic force for trust, innovation, and resilience. Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) has long been associated with boardrooms and bureaucracy—a domain reserved for executives and auditors. But that image is changing fast.

NAIROBI / LAGOS / LONDON — 28/08/2026 — THE MORGANS today announced that the 7th Annual GRC & Financial Crime Prevention Global Awards & Summit will be hosted in Nairobi, Kenya on 20 November 2026.

Founded in Lagos in 2020, the GRC & Financial Crime Prevention Awards & Summit spent six years establishing its foundations in Nigeria, building a growing community of leaders and practitioners committed to strengthening governance, risk, compliance and financial crime prevention.

In 2026, the platform enters a new chapter.

The 7th Annual GRC & Financial Crime Prevention Global Awards & Summit will bring together regulators, policymakers, financial institutions, corporate leaders, law enforcement, technology innovators and GRC and financial crime professionals from Africa and across the world.

Nairobi 2026 marks the evolution of the platform into one annual global flagship, hosted in Africa and connected to the world.

One programme, one ceremony, one panel.

The Global Summit convenes a full-day international programme built around the problems that do not stop at a border — cross-border financial crime, sanctions exposure, correspondent banking risk, illicit financial flows, and the governance frameworks institutions are held to in every market they touch.

The programme is recruited internationally by design, with speakers drawn from Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana and across African markets alongside the UK and Europe, the Middle East and international institutions.

The Global Awards ceremony follows, recognizing excellence across six pillars and more than forty categories spanning every regulated sector. The process runs in four stages — nomination, public voting, independent judging and the Gala. The top five per category by public vote proceed to independent judging, where scores are applied against published, sector-specific criteria without conflict, bias or sight of other scores. The top three finalists per category are recognised on the night; the winner is revealed only at the ceremony.

A host city, not a boundary

Nairobi is the first host city outside Nigeria. THE MORGANS confirmed that Africa will be the permanent home of the Global Awards & Summit, with the host city rotating between strategically significant African markets in future years. A framework inviting cities and institutional partners to express interest in hosting the eighth edition will follow after Nairobi.
